I just discovered that the Mail app will not alert you to stale passwords and cause an immediate lockout after logging into a Win8 computer or Surface Pro joined to a workgroup, at least in our environment.  Digging through our Exchange server logs I see the Mail app attempts to log in with the stale PW more than 6 times in less than 10 seconds.

Has anyone else seen this?  Is there a setting to display the stale Mail app PW alert on the desktop?

Based on my knowledge, there is no such feature in Windows Mail app.

You can contact with Live account support to confirm whether this feature persists in account-based.
