Try microsoft system restore , and try to restore ur system to an earlier point when it worked fine. According to the symptoms, it is most likely that this issue is caused by a conflict with third-party drivers or services. A clean installation of Windows Vista is always an efficient way to resolve such an issue. After formatting the hard disk and reinstalling Windows Vista, we will get a fresh Windows Vista installation. It is more stable than the current system. Or if u would like to narrow down the issue, try these steps Step 1: Disable System Restore (if system restore fails) ======================== Since the virus may have infected the System Restore storage folder, please disable the System Restore feature to clear the storage folder: 1. Click Start. In the search bar, type in "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotation marks) and press Enter. 2. Choose the "System Protection" tab and uncheck all items in “Create restore point automatically on the selected disks”. 3. Click "OK". Step 2: Stop DNS Cache =================== 1. Click Start, type "cmd" in the search bar. The CMD icon will appear in the Start Menu. 2. Right click the CMD icon and click "Run as administrator". 3. In the popup window, type the following command and press Enter. net stop dnscache Step 3: Download and run Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool =================================================== Please download the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool from the link below and save it on the Desktop: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en Double click it to launch the scan. If not, please skip items 1~3 and proceed to item 4. 1. Restart the computer. 2.
