I just attempted a driver update of the MS virtual wi-fi adapter in device manager and the result was >>> "Windows can't verify the publisher of the driver software" ??? not even mentioning that there should have been no result as WinUpdate offers nothing at this time. And it got probably reinstalled while giving a try to MS FixIt Center beta that brought it back through a maintenance operation on "homegroup" or "networking"...

I don't actually need the virtual wi-fi adapter, I was only wondering why an attempt to update its driver led to such a result. Makes sense when one considers it's just an extension of the real wi-fi adpater. Mine is up to date btw (through Windows Update), no problem on that side. But thanks for your reply and the link to the documentation about Wireless Hosted Network, that's interesting.
