Whether this is a new occurrence, The type of mail account, The version of Outlook may all have some relevance. In the mean time start outlook using the safe switch Run Outlook.exe /safe see if the problem reoccurs

tried to start in safe but the response was : Cannot start Outlook. Command line arguement is not valid. Verify the switch you are using. Which of course leaves me completely at a loss.
