MS Malisious Software Removal Tool - Update March 2011 needs ages to complete
Why does the update of MTR need in current security patches deployment action ages to complete the download and installation? Microsoft, do you have any explanation?

how many files do you have? You can create a new DWORD registry value DontOfferThroughWUAU in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MRT This hides the MRT. If you run a virus scanner like Microsoft Security Essentials you don't need that tool."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" Want to install RSAT on Windows 7 Sp1? Thanks for info. Does your answer mean a system or file scan takes place during updating MTR in context of monthly application of Microsoft security patches? If yes, why then. Update should stay to be an update, not a scan. Please consider, what I am reporting here addresses the application of security patches for MS products in March 2011. Nothing more.

Depending on the amount of files, the scan can take some time. I disabled the offer of the MRT, because I already use MSE."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" Want to install RSAT on Windows 7 Sp1? Check my HowTo: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=150221

Dear Microsoft, is it possible for you to give an answer to the questions asked here? Not just giving any side explanations.

I can't answer why it takes so long. Run Process Monitor in background and look why it takes so long. If you don't want an answer and if you think you all better, don't ask here."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" Want to install RSAT on Windows 7 Sp1?
