MSTSC / RDP on Windows 7 RC x64 started asking for credentials
Safecycle,Can you try if this method works for you?1. open mstsc.exe2.click on options3. in the computer field fill in your server (eg. Server1)4. in the username field you fill in the servername\username (e.g. Server1\administrator)5. Check the box "Allow me to save the credentinals"6. Now make a connection (it is possible that you need to give your credentinals agian)7. Make a success full connection.8. now try to connect to the server mstsc /v:server1 /admin (if you want to you can make a shortcut with this command)Tell me if it solves your problem.Kind regardsDFTIM me

Yes, that helped! Thank you!!After the proposedbackground session login "reestablished the trust" somewhere, I can either use mstsc /v:server1 /admin, or my previous shortcut mstsc server1.rdp /admin, and they both log me into the console sessionautomatically, just like before.Appreciate your help!

Safecycle,I am also performing some test for a client regarding this issue. It seems that the remote desktop client 6.1 included and higherversions. Have a small design change regarding the storage of theyour password. From my test i see that it is not possible anymore to store a password in a RDP file. But that your credenitals are stored in a safe location in your userprofile. (if you use the method explained above)Abad move from Microsoft? NO,it is good becausetheif you store domain credentinals ina .RDP file. You need +/- 20 lines of code to encrypt it.So, Go Microsoft :)P.S.: This information is based on my tests, I have no official microsoft document that supports this theory.Kind RegardsDFT
