MSNMSGR.EXE - No Disk error

After installing MSN Messenger Live (Version 2009 Build 14.0.8050.1202)
I started receiving this error. Messenger still functions but this
error is popping up randomly at different times, even at my login
screen. I click 10-20 times until it finally disappears and everything
seems to function normally until the random error comes back. I have uninstalled and reinstalled MSN Messenger with no resolve. It's very
annoying.
I have run AVG Free and Microsoft Windows Defender but they haven't
found any problems. I also ran RegistryBooster but it requires payment
to resolve the issues. Makes me wonder if there really are 253 issues
to address as the trial only allows the cleanup of 15.
Note: I am currently running Windows 7 Beta which was just recently
installed as a dual boot with XP to my Z: drive. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. I realize that a Beta OS will have issues but I
just cannot seem to get rid of this. Everything else is working slick
and I am quite liking the new OS. Anyway...thanks again.

Where do I forward this error off to get the Development team to have a look at it?

If you had access to the connect site feedback link, that would be the best place. You would know if you have that. The comments thread I mentioned can be replied to with all this info.Rating posts helps other users

I guess I am a little confused. The only link I see on your thread is:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/54b430c4-e9dd-4035-8715-1a970e17fe07And that looks like the same place I asked this original question. *shrug*

There's another thread with a similar issue posted here. The poster was going to try reinstalling it but he never seemed to have gotten back to us with the results. Seems if he sticks a disc in his optical drive - the error does go away.
No idea why Messenger would want a disk in that drive.
Please uninstall/reinstall the app and post your results.
Thanks!

OK - problem solved :)The company I am working for is a system builderAs such, it has copies of Windows 7 on disk - one of which I used to install the trialRemember when Messenger first appeared - it was one of the 'Windows Services' things that you installed on a separate tab in the Add/Remove programs part of Control Panel ?Seems that if you install from a disk (or the copy you have used was - at some point in time) created to be installed from a disk......then you need to put that disk in to the system in order to complete the Messenger installationHope this solves"WINDOWS 7 MESSENGER PROBLEM PLEASE INSERT DISK" for you !

That's a joke!
I have the same issue however I don't remember which disk I used to install MSN messenger from as it may have been from disk of which I have many with MSN on it or downloaded from the internet.
Will uninstalling and reinstalling it fix this issue if you download it off the internet to reinstall?

I did not install MSN Live Messenger from a disk. I downloaded it off the internet. I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times (and starting from scratch off the internet) but the popup error continues to come back. I get the error when first logging in to it and also when it notifies me that I have received an email or sometimes when other people log in. I have to click on the X button 10-15 times to get rid of it and then it will let me continue using it. If I leave my MSN logged in and just lock my Windows Account the error popup will actually be at my windows log on window. I have tried everything but the error will not go away. At this time I see no resolution except for reinstalling Windows 7...which I probably will do with the new release candidate version. Good luck.

The release candidate version of Windows 7 with the latest msn version has fixed this issue for me for the time being!I.T. Construct
