MSE plus Malewarebytes?
I was under the impression that mse was enough protection and one should never run more than 1 program, yet i just read this...Microsoft Security Essentials is *much* better than Norton. Norton isone of the *worst* ones available, and Microsoft Security Essentialsis one of the better ones. I strongly recommend dumping Norton. Here's my standard advice on the subject: For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you are willingto pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one of thefollowing three: AviraAvastMicrosoft Security Essentials You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download andinstall (both freeware) MalwareBytes AntiMalware *and*SuperAntiSpyware. > I very confused about how to protect my p.c. Norton also said that my wireless connection is not secure. Looking for some guideline/support. TKS Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP I run xp-sp3 with mse. should i add malwarebytes too?1 person needs an answerI do too

In my experience, Norton's 2009 and newer products are very good. I'm running Comcast's free version of the Norton Security Suite on my computer, and it works fine. I don't like Norton's pre-2009 products, which, in my experience, could slow a computer down. I suspect that someone who says a big NO to all Norton products hasn't tried their recent ones.MSE is also very good, and it's free.Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware works well with antivirus programs, provided that you get the free version, which doesn't have real-time protection. There's a chance of bad interactions with antivirus programs if MBAM's real-time protection is turned on. Install the free version, then update it and run scans occasionally.Boulder Computer Maven

You can run any realtime anti-spyware program with an A/V program and it will not conflict. Running to A/V programs at the same time is another story.
