MSE and OneCare Full Scan do not clean the Virus on my PC
I have been fighting the Fake.PAV virus for a week. I think I am fully updated on my Windows XP Pro, SP3 machine. When my infection started I was using a fully up to date Norton Symantec Antivirus tool. (I uninstalled it when I noticed it interfering with Microsoft Security Essentials after I installed it.) I've used Malwarebytes, Spy-Bot, MSE, and the OneCare Live Scan. The virus has modified my version of internet explorer 8 so that some of the features are no longer available. (like tabs) It also has stopped Windows Update from functioning. I can manually update the Antivirus definitions and that seems to help. I have noticed I get random Popups whenever I'm on the internet and the Pop Up Blocker for Explorer 8 appears to be disabled. Help?1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi DapperDoug, I'd suggest you run a full virus scan in safe mode with networking and then check. Note: Please use the Ethernet cable/network cable in case your computer does not support safe mode with networking in a wireless state. If the virus is not flushed out, please post your issue in Microsoft Security Essentials Forums for best support. You might also try running Internet Explorer without any addons: Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (No Addons)If that helps, go to Tools -> Manage Addons from within IE.HTH, JW
