MOSS document libraries and Windows 7 RC/IE8 - slowness
Software: Office 2007 Small Business, Windows 7 64bit and 32bit RC, IE8, MOSS 2007 SP2 - no customization. Issues: When opening documents on our MOSS site it takes quite a while to open documents. The same issue with saving - much longer than usual. Right click - Save target as and using the 'upload' functionality is instantaneous. "Open with Windows Explorer" takes 20 or so seconds, IE8 gives the message: "A webpage is not responding on the following website:" and I have the option to close. Copying files to and from the eventual Explorer window is VERY slow - 1 minute for 150kb for example. I have XP Mode installed and everything works great there and is an instant response. This is an intranet on a fast network. I have tried this on 3 machines running Win7 64bit on one and 32bit on the other 2 and the problem is universal. This is absolutely a show stopper for me. I have nothing in my event viewer indicating any errors. If anyone has any suggestions I am willing to try them. Thanks for your time, - Mike

Well I managed to find a way to submit this via the feedback system via "Start -> Run ->rundll32.exe FeedbackTool.dll,ShowWizard" and I hope it gets looked at.I'd even be willing to do more testing if I had any inclination that Microsoft would be interested in the results. This seems like a pretty big deal because you would think Microsoft uses SharePoint internally... it's hard to imagine this was missed but after 5 machines now... I am not seeing it as an isolated problem.

I'm running Win 7 64bit final. It's still very slow with MOSS 2007.... It takes forever to open or upload files.

I am having the same problem with WSS3.0 on an SBS2008 server. Clients are Win7 64 also.

Fixed by unchecking "autodetect connection" in the IE8 proxy settings tab.
