I am attempting to install the MDOP MBAM client on a Windows 7 Enterprise workstation. The installation fails, reporting that the client needs either Windows 7 Enterprise or Ultimate version; however it is a Windows 7 Enterprise operating system that is installed. Unable to find any information via net search or in technet. MDOP version is 2011 R2. Any idea what may cause this issue and the remediation of the problem would be?

Picking up quite an old thread here; we are experiencing the same issue. The installer quits almost immediately with the error "MDOP MBAM requires Enterprise or Ultimate edition of Windows 7. Installation cannot continue". We are certainly using Enterprise edition, specifically Enterprise N. Windows is currently not yet activated - we are running a limited lab environment within an organisation which uses KMS; however I do not have a KMS server in the lab I can activate against. Did anybody get an answer for this? I've gone and made a copy of the MSI. Opened it with Orca and removed the launch condition but am worried now it may not be supported..I'm guessing it's just an oversight on Microsofts part, they just forgot to include Enterprise N in the condition..but not 100% PLEASE MARK ANY ANSWERS TO HELP OTHERS Blog: rorymon.com Twitter: @Rorymon
