MBAM Compliance DB & RecoveryHardware entries discrepency
I recently had to recover a client and found that I could not locate the client in the Compliance reports but I could in the Drive Recovery. Why would some clients have information in the [MBAM Recovery and Hardware].[RecoveryAndHardwareCore] location and not in [MBAM Compliance Status].[ComplianceCore].[Machines] ? Michael

Hi, The recovery and hardware database stores the BitLocker recovery passwords. Thats why you can find a recover client information in the Drive Recovery. Also you should understand The compliance and audit database just stores the BitLocker compliance data of all MBAM-enabled client computers. Hope this helps.Your Name TechNet Community Support

This is not an answer to the question. The question is why is the Recovery database larger than the compliance database? If MBAM can store the bitlocker information in the recoverydb, then why can't it store the computer information in the compliancedb. In my environment, the compliancedb isn't 'less important' than the recoverydb. Thanks, MBMichael

Are all of your machines not showing up? I assume you are talking about the Enterprise report? Or are you talking about the Computer one which is the one where you search a machine name? If it's not showing up in the Enterprise Report I'd take a look at the machine in questions event viewer log for MBAM and see if it's reporting back properly. It's possible it encrypted but can't report back it's compliance. From what I remember of the initials setup there's a couple of DBs. Logistically I think one will store the machine info including hardware type, bios version and the recovery key (The initial more static info). Where as the reporting DB contains info like encryption settings e.g. algorithm used, Logged on users, Encryption status etc. Which can change and need to be tracked constantly. If you don't see anything in the compliance report I would think your client machine is not reporting back. Can you check your Event Viewer log on the machine and tell us if you see any error?PLEASE MARK ANY ANSWERS TO HELP OTHERS Blog: rorymon.com Twitter: @Rorymon

All of the machines are showing up in the Hardware & Recovery DB. Not all of the machines are showing up in the Compliance DB. I'll try to locate a PC & check the MBAM Events. Thanks, MBMichael
