MAC addres change (spoof)
How can I change MAC address in Windows7?. I've tried everything I'm aware of: - changing settings on device properties (configure, advanced tab and so on..), - messing with the registry (I located the key NetworkAddress under proper device etc) - finally using ;( software meant to do it (only SMAC started). Everytime I restarted device and no change.I still can't get any change: ipconfig shows burnt in MAC :(. I need this because my ISP is filtering my wireless connection by MAC. By the way: I cannot change MAC of any of the three NICs I've got, not just the wireless.Edit: I use 64 bit version.

I wouldn't be surprised if a number of legal issues would prevent you from getting any support in this issue. This might not be the right forum for these kind of questions. :-p

I wouldn't have thought there might be a legal issue. This option is easily accessible through device settings on most NICs, not obscured in any way. There is a number of freely available programs to do it in any OS, some of them are commercial (sold for money:D even in the USA). Some systems (like nix) even have this capability built in. So ... Yes I know that mac spoofing can be used for hacking etc. but those admins who rely only on MAC filtering can easily get hurt. In my case in order to work on win7 I had to change network card (drivers). So on XP I simply changed MAC. On win7 it doesn't work and I would like to know why, even if not solve the problem. greetz

I have successfully changed the MAC on my Wireless Intel chip to the same as my Wired by installing the Vista drivers and using the macshift program. The problem is however that the wireless won't connect if I don't disable the Wired one. Hope this helps.
