Lync wants a Silverlight update but Silverlight is up to date

When I try to run Lync 2010 a message box appears saying "you must install the latest version of Microsoft Silverlight before you can sign in to Lync. Click install to download and install Silverlight".

I've clicked install - which opens a web browser, and links me to the download page. I then download and install Silverlight successfully.

I've run the installer as admin.

After the installation when I try to run Lync it still says the same error.  I've restarted the computer, and tried the installation multiple times.  My only wonder is if it needs a windows update (which I'm not in control of on my machine).  Any ideas? I had Lync working at one point, and now this error is appearin

Hi,

Please uninstall Silverlight in programs list first then reinstall it.

You may need to switch to Compatibility Mode if you are using newer versions of Internet Explorer. Also, adding the FQDN of the Lync Front-End pool to the Trusted Zone may help.

Please share with us if this helps. Thanks!
