Lync server 2010 stress and performance tool setup confusion

I am trying to do Lync Server Load and Performance testing. I came across Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool. I read the document it came with and little confused about setting it up. To install this tool it says I would need either windows server 03 or 08. That part makes sense when I install it on the machine that is running lync server. But what about the client side? The clients that will actually make phone calls to lync server to load test. (it is my understanding that you have to install this performance tool on both client and server machines) My client machines have windows 7 or xp. How is it possible to install stress and performance tool on those machines? Maybe I am confused about installing this tool on several machines. Maybe it is just on the server only. Can someone explain to me?

THanks Appreciate it.

Hi, it looks like your question is about the Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance tool. Unfortunately, the Lync Client Development forum is focused on the Lync client API. I will direct you to the Lync Server forums on TechNet, which should be more of assistance for you.

You can install the Lync Server 2010, Stress and Performance Tool on your Win 7 computer, you will get the Lync Server 2010, Stress and Performance Tool Documentation.

By reading the document, Lync Server 2010 Stress and Performance Tool (LyncPerfTool.exe) cannot be run on a computer that is also running Lync Server 2010.

The client means the computer that run Lync Server 2010, Stress and Performance Tool.

Thanks. I understand now that you have to install it on FE server but not run the tool. Also all the clients need to have this tool installed where I will run the actual performance tool.
