Lync phone doesn't ring, it just beeps a single time.

Hello everyone,

We are running into an issue where some of our users Lync Phones (Polycom CX600) are only doing a single beep when someone calls. The users phone will be working properly up until a random point and then it will only beep on incoming calls from that point forward. We have tried checking all the settings, resetting the Lync phone, replacing the Lync phone. Nothing seems to work. We are using Lync 2013 + 2010, and Windows 7.

Any help with where to look next would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cory

I've deployed thousands of these and haven't seen that one.  I have seen large bad batches of phones however with random failures or static.  I looked it up a bit out of curiosity and saw someone was able to alleviate the issue by removing the USB connection, that would be a terrible solution but does it help?   I trust you've changed the ringtone to the same effect?

Here's another one where Jeff chimed in:

Are the phones at the latest firmware?  Is the Lync 2013 client fully up to date?

Is the phone tethered with the PC using the USB cable? I have seen this before where the phone is in a PC Audio mode even though the PC is not outputting any sound. As a result the phone beeps rather than rings just like it would if you where on a call already.

If its tethered it may be worth removing the cable and seeing if you get the same result.

Hi,

Did you solve the issue with the help of the people above provided?

Please update to the last version for Lync client, server and Lync phone to test the issue.

Please also enable the Lync server logging tool to on Mediation and FE server to test issue.

Here is the link of using the Lync logging tool:
