Lync for mac 2011 not working in corporate LAN

Download 14.0.11 (latest version) and try again. There are some fixes in it for example related to proxy.pac file (not sure if that is used within your environment).

If still not working, then enable logging (Preferences -> General) and then try again. Provide the Microsoft-Lync.log file (you can find it in ~/Library/Logs).

Thanks.

Hi guys,

I have a mac client that has newest version 14.0.10 of lync installed. The Mac works on OS X Yosemite

operating system. The problem is that when you connect to corporate LAN, lync never connects and gives

following error: Sign in to Microsoft Lync failed because the service is not available or you may not be connected to the Internet.

If you share a connection via mobile or connect via outside network, you are able to log in and lync functions properly

I have tried to update root certificate on mac via copying one from windows client, but with no luck.

Hi Itseeker1,

As ErikHMac stated, the new version of Lync for Mac 14.0.11 has been released, you can install it and check if the issue is solved.

I know you have installed the root certificate on Mac, but please check it again and make sure the certificate is issued by an Enterprise Certificate Authority (Internal CA) and also should be trusted by the Lync Server.

In addition, it looks like an Internet connectivity issue, please try to flush the DNS cache by running the following command.

dscacheutil -flushcache

Hope it can be helpful.

Best regards,

Eric

I updated lync to 14.0.11 but it didn't work .

Eventually it was the root cert that wasn't trusted. As soon it was marked "trusted" , Lync started working. Thanks alot Eric!
