Lync client to Skype for Business Client upgrade

Hi,

I have few questions regarding the new Skype for Business Client

1)  How the Lync client Will be upgrade to SFB Client?

2) Is there a separate SFB Client available for download? Or do we need install Lync 2013 client and upgrade to SFB?

3)After installing the Lync Server with Latest Updates, There is an option available under get-csclientpolicy as EnableSkypeUI which I set it as True. After that I am able to login to Lync clients Internally/Externally and also on few SFB Clients. But there are few SFB client where I cannot login with same account. (I tried login with different domain accounts and able to login successfully,. Not sure why a single domain is not allowed though the settings configured as Automatic detection of Server.

No seperate installation package will exist for S4B client. You have always to install the Lync 2013 client and run the latest updates for the Lync 2013 client and get the S4B client with this updtaes. The SFB client will be integrated on the Office 2016 package.

The parameter EnableSkypeUI will change the behavior of the client UI, $true=Skype UI $false=Lync 2013 UI.

Al Lync 2010,2013 and S4B client can login to a Lync 2010,2013,S4B Server.

If an user could not login on the S4B client, autodiscover and all other settings are the same for the S4B client.

Thanks Holger for the quick response.

The behavior is strange. My laptop Lync client was upgraded to SFB Client. The user account failed to login in my laptop, but the same account working fine with the Other PCs Lync/SFB Clients with automatic settings enabled. Even in my laptop I was able to login with other domain SFB/Lync Accounts and its just working fine too.

Only in my laptop and only one particular domain users was unable to login. Any guess?

Hi,

Please try following -->

1. Delete the Sip folder

2. Check the DNS records (Lync discover) resolves properly from laptop.

3. Check host file and static route if any.

4. Acount configuration like Remote sign in.

5. Check  UCCAPI log .
