Lync client receive poor quality signal for network issue

Network connectivity causing audio delays, any practice for Cisco switch? QOS?

around 400 peoples using lync client soft phone or Hard phone both report the audio delays issues. almost is using soft client.

Workstation and Lync server done the QOS already. Switch was done QOS same but look not working.

Client still report audio delays issue.

Any suggestions?

The Monitoring Reports provide specific reports concerning call quality. For example the Media Quality Summary Report.

You should check if the reports are showing "poor call quality calls" and you can trill into the report to find out why the call had poo quality (packet loss, jitter).

If there's a delay, meaning you say something and it's a while before it's heard, it may not necessarily be a QoS issue.  Check out the monitoring reports like emu78 mentioned, but look at latency as well.  Are there delays between two Lync people using voice in the same subnet?

No. They using same subnet.

If there's a delay, meaning you say something and it's a while before it's heard.

It is delay between Inbound and outbound call, local peer to peer call no problem, user can't hear some words, some words loss between the call.

Hi,

If the delay happen between internal and external Lync call, it can be the issue of Edge Server. QoS is useless for Internet traffic. You can check the Monitoring Report to find the delay information.

Here is a similar case may help you:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/0c22ae53-7fb7-4e9c-bed9-858243373fed/call-delay

If the issue happen for PSTN calls, please double check the configuration of the Media Gateway.

But we don't have deploy the Edge server, no mobility.

If the signal show poor it mean the Layer 2 switch network connection is poor or the connection from lync client to lync FrontEnd Server connection is poor?

Thanks.

It could be either or between your mediation and Cisco, I'd consider using wireshark to capture sone test calls at the mediation server to see if you can spot issues.

finding media gateway vendor to check the issue, but they using same gateway with SBC routing to another PBX gateway.

Another PBX gateway no quality issue report, the gateway loading is low. T1 interface no error found.

But it hard to analysis the information with Cisco wireshark.

they still have quality issue and happen on random call, but if the call is add 3rd people it will hear obviously delay and loss on the call.
