What is you logging level set at?  If FULL, please reset it to 'light'

The FULL is only for short time.

I done that but due to GP after Lync restart it is going to default...

I would talk to my Lync admin and ask him/her why he/she is requiring FULL debug logs across all users.  It's not really best practice.  Please send him/her this URL to this string.

Get-CsClientPolicy and look for "tracingLevel" ... it SHOULD be set to LIGHT instead of FULL.  Or, unconfigured even.   There is not much that you can do to override this easily - and your admin may have a reason for it.

TracingLevel

Optional

Microsoft.Rtc.Management.WritableConfig.Policy.Client.TracingLevel

Enables Administrators to manage event tracing and logging in Lync 2013. Allowed values are:

* Off Tracing is disabled and the user cannot change this setting.

* Light Minimal tracing is performed, and the user cannot change this setting.

* Full Verbose tracing is performed, and the user cannot change this setting.

By default TracingLevel is set to Light.

Hi Greg,

This is only one user issue as no one are facing like this...

one user issue means it might be issue with client side ?

no need to touch server i think...

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !!

Another thing that you can do - and I'd do this FIRST - is:

  1. SIGN OUT FROM LYNC
  2. From the login screen- select "DELETE MY SIGNIN INFO"
  3. Then log back into LYNC

See if that clears up.  Maybe something stuck in the profile.

you stated earlier that due to GP (assuming group policy, but you're probably referring to policy in general - Lync policy) that it's reverting back to FULL.  The object of the game seems to be to find the policy that is reverting the client to FULL logging, right?

Does the user have the same policy that the other users have?  Perhaps, the global policy?  please run "get-csuser -identity domain\samaccountname" and verify what clientpolicy is being served AND that the client is under the expected policy.

You'll need to have access to the Lync server to look at that.  But, not being able to verify the policy puts us at a difficult position.

If the user logs in from another workstation - what is the logging set to?  does it go from LIGHT -> FULL?

Hi NDEVI,

In general, every time you sign in to the Lync client, all the data in this file should be cleared.

So please exit the Lync client and restart it , then check if the file is reset.

In addition, Im afraid that you cannot configure the Lync 2010 tracing level, the TracingLevel parameter only applies to Lync 2013.

Due to theres only one user has this issue, so as Greg stated that you can test the user from another workstation.

Best regards,

Eric

Hi Greg/Eric,

I run get csuser and i didnt see any difference only one difference i found is "EXUmEnabled" is false for affected user.

Is this is a reason for increasing 'Communicator-4.0.7577.4446-Ics_se_w14_main(rtbldlab)-x86fre-U.etl' file size ?

Thanks !!

Hi NDEVI,

This only can tell you that the user is not an Exchange UM enabled user.

I doubt that  there's something wrong with the Lync 2010, have you tried to reinstall the Lync client ?

Best regards,

Eric
