Lync can't add Skype accounts
Hi,
I have Lync 2013 Windows client. I already have "People on public IM networks" selected in my user settings, but the Skype account I added still haven't received any add request after 24 hours. I added his Microsoft account ending with hotmail.com.
It also shows presence unknown on my side. If I try to send a message, it says error ID 403. Is there some setting I missed? Thanks

Hi,
If you get Presence Unknown something is wrong in your federation with Skype. When you requested Skype federation in

Does federation work with other users? For example, Lync users from other organizations.

I got it to work now. In addition to enabling public IM for each individual, I also need to enable public IM for the whole organization. It has nothing to do with federation. Thanks.
