Lync Server 2010 backward compatiblity tools
running best practice analyser on lync 2010 and ended up with this msg.

"Lync Server 2010 backward compatiblity tools are not installed on this computer.
 :

Best Practices Analyzer cannot collect all data points from the environment unless Lync Server 2010 backward compatiblity tools are installed on this computer."

do I really need to install this to get some good details from best practices analyser?  this is not an upgrade from OCS to 2010.  so i was wondering if backward comp tool is required to be installed?.

if we have to install this , can we do this in teh middle of a day ..no impact to the services? do i have to install on all lync servers?

thanks for your help.

You only need those tools when connecting with OCS.

The error is due to those tools not being there prohibits the tool from checking into the OCS environment. I would ignore the error.
