Lync Server 2010 Edge Server Certificate

Hello,

I will appreciate some help with this scenario

If I submit a CSR (Certificate signing Request-generated as an Offline request) from a Lync 2010 Edge Server generated using the Deployment Wizard to a Public CA like 'GoDaddy', should I expect to still complete a Pending Certificate Request using the Lync 2010 Edge Server Deployment Wizard to generate the actual SSL certificate or will I be able to obtain the full certificate from the CA generated with the CSR submitted without the need to complete any pending Certificate Request on the Lync 2010 Edge Server .

You'll get the cert back from GoDaddy, but the complete pending will help pair your private key with the certificate they return. So, good idea to do it this way, though you can do it through the certificate snap in as well.

Once the cert is paired with the associated private key that's on your Edge, you can re-export it with the private key and use it on other servers.

Hi David,

You should refer to the following article to set up the certificate for the Edge Server.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398409.aspx

If your deployment includes multiple Edge Servers, you should export the certificate along with its private key, and then copy it to the other Edge Servers.

Best regards,

Eric
