Lync Server 2010, Lync and Skype Video and Audio issue.

Hi,

We are using Lync 2010 server We are enabled our Lync server for Skype.

We are not able to use Audio and Video from Lync to Skype.

Is it a Limitation for Lync Server 2010.

Thanks

It's not a limitation in Lync 2010 Server, and audio at least should work. Video can be iffy, one side will need an up to date Lync 2013 or Skype for Business client and the other side will need to be using the most up to date Windows/Skype consumer client. Video between all platforms is not working yet.

Can you chat with Skype users?  Can you chat with Lync users from other companies?  Check that you're using open federation, that you have your _sipfederationtls_.tcp.domain.com record created properly, and that port 5061 is open to your external edge server in both directions.  Also, check pic.lync.com (you have to sign up here for Skype federation to work) to make sure it's provisioned properly and give it a few days.

Hi,

1. The audio traffic from Lync to Skype should be work. Please double check the ports on Edge external interface.

2. Base on my understanding, both Lync Server 2010 and 2013 could make video chat with Skype users, make sure Server update to the latest version.

3. Change to the Lync 2013 client and update to the latest version to achieve the a/v function with Skype client.

Best Regards,
Eason Huang

From the server perspective, I'd just ensure your edge is set up properly. Can you video chat between an internal user and an external user using the same client?  From the client perspective, if it's working inbound, but not outbound, I'd make sure your client is 100% up to date.
