Lync Online Meetings, reporting on recurring meetings with 'Everyone' as presenter? How to change current meetings and disable the 'Everyone' option?

We have been reviewing the meeting security in Lync lately and notice that some employees have created Lync online meetings in the past which reoccur every week and have the Presenters set as 'Everyone'.

This makes it so that if that conference ID ever got leaked to the internet, it could be used by anyone as a free conference bridge. We are going to change the default policy so that 'Organizer only' is the default for Presenter instead of 'People from my company'. We would like to have a way to make that change retroactive to any meetings which have previously been scheduled, or to be able to report on any meeting which has been setup like that so we can manually change it. Can we do that?

Also, is there a way to disable the 'Everyone' option for Presenters so it cant even be chosen as an option?

Brian,

There is no way out of the box that I have ever seen to be able to make that change.  The only warning I would give you in terms of using Organizer Only as the presenter is to make sure to do good training with your admin staff if they frequently create meetings on behalf of others.  We saw this often (as did MS and why it changed in Lync 2010) that an admin would create a meeting for the boss and several other people.  Then the admin would not join the meeting as he/she had no reason to and everyone would just sit in the lobby forever.

Thanks,

Richard

Hi,

But you can try to change value of DesignateAsPresenter so that you can set the default choice for users when they schedule meeting.
