Lync Monitoring Server - cannot run DeployReports.ps1

I keep getting this error when trying to run DeployReports.ps1

And I get the same error when I run this from the Lync Server Management Shell

Just looking for the minimal, barebones Monitoring Server.

I assume it's OK to co-locate the Monitoring Server with everything else (all lync servers on one machine)?

ocshost1.pstocs.com is the all-in-one machine I'm using.

Also: is it necessary to install Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services to SQL Services?

It wasn't clear from this:

You will require Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204989(v=ocs.15).aspx

You use the SQL on the Lync server also for the reporting services?

It is not suported to install the monitoring db on an Lync standard server. You have to use a seperate SQL for the monitoring or if you have installed a Lync enterprise pool, you can install the DB on the SQL backend.

Hi Scott,

Agree with Holger.

You can collocate archiving and monitoring server on Lync standard edition Server, but not the database.

You need to deploy a new dedicated Full SQL edition server for archiving and monitoring, you cannot collocate other databases on the Standard Edition server.

Best regards,

Eric

OK thank you for the advice.

Currently I have three servers - (1) is for everything Lync.

Another  (2) is for everything DC/AD/DNS/Certificate Server, etc.

Another (3) is for Microsoft Exchange

And that all works fine.

Can I put the SQL on 2 or 3?

(hoping I don't need a fourth server but will do it if necessary)

Thanks,

Scott

SQL is not supported to install on Exchange or Domain Controler.

You have to use another server for the SQL database

OK, built a brand new server and installed the full SQL server 2008 on it.

OS is Server 2008.

name of this server is ocshost9

I cannot deploy Monitoring server

Have you deployed the monitoring databases using the Topology Builder?

Yes, and I successfully published the topology before I depoloyed the monitoring server in the dep. wizard.

Hi Scott,

You can try to delete the two databases and reconfigure the Monitoring Server in Topology Builder and then publish the changes again.

Eric
