Lync IM Sync between Mobile Client and Desktop Client
Hello everybody,
I would like to know if Lync clients can keep a conversation history syncronized, between the mobile client and the desktop client. The idea is to start a conversation in one of those clients, and then change to other client keeping the conversation history
initiated before.
Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
Once you reply to that message only the device used for the reply will continue to show the rest of the IMs in the conversation. This by designed and cannot be changed.

This is a bad design then.

Yes, this is bad design. Skype instant messaging maintains a conversation with a contact no matter what the device and this would be the preferred behavior for almost any user.

This is a horrible design for the business environment, the whole point is to go to Linc for all telecommunications. I should be able to start a teleconversation on my PC switch to IM then grab my Phone on my way to a meeting and continue my conversation
without having to restart everything and without having lost my thread.
Whoever decided to unlink the devices was not thinking about the future. Better rethink this or get your lunch eaten by a competitor.

100% bad design. I would really like to know the benefit of having this design and why it was chosen.
Also Lync mobile suffers connection issues worse than any other IM program, it's quite unreliable when moving from WiFi to mobile data and vice-versa. I cannot put my trust in Lync Mobile.

I must agree. This is a horrible design that makes Lync undesirable in today's Mobile business environment.
Fix this or lose all your IM business to your competitors.

+1. Under the circumstance that this is by design, I need to move my company to plain old Skype

When you say 'by design' do you mean it was intentionally designed in this way. If so can you explain to us the logic behind this? The designers must have decided that it was preferable for conversations to NOT sync between desktop and mobile clients.
Please enlighten us.

This is a critical feature for an IM. This is not really helpful to use Lync in a flexibel way of communication.
Please, put it on the roadmap with high priviledges.

Agree with everybody else that this is extremely poor behaviour, and unexpected when everybody is supporting a seamless experience between devices.
I have been looking everywhere thinking it's the way I set this up, but it's just poor design...
Back to Vanilla-Skype it is....
