Lync Client does not connect outside the Domain

Hi Everyone,

I have setup the Lync server and everything works fine inside the domain. We have few users who work from home and would like to have Lync Client installed on their machines.

What should I do to make this work when the users are outside the domain?

Please assist.

You need to setup Edge server and Reverse Proxy server.

This is the article that shows how to do Reverse Proxy with TMG:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/9807.configuring-forefront-tmg-2010-as-reverse-proxy-for-lync-server-2010.aspx

This is how you setup Edge:

Thank you.

Before you deploy the edge server, you would better to check the following link.

Versar,

You do not need to setup any additional Lync Server roles for external access if your users already have working VPN remote access back to your corporate LAN. Otherwise, at least a Lync Server Edge plus a reverse proxy server is recommended to make VPN-less connection for a company's employees possible (not to mention the other pluses like Lync federation, remote anonymouse meeting participants, etc.).

Please share with us if this helps. Thanks!
