I just deployed a Lync server on my network for a group of test users to start with until we work out all of the bugs and then deploying it throughout the entire building. I have worked out every problem I was having except one with the GAL.
After the user has logged on and the GAL file is created on their computer, it never updates with new names. I have run the Update-CsAddressBook on the servers. I have checked the Get-CsUserReplicatorConfiguration and the results are this:
Identity: Global
ADDomainNamingContextList: <>
ReplicationCycleInterval: 00:01:00
Then running the Get-CsAddressBookConfiguration the results are:
Identity: Global
RunTimeOfDay: 12:00 AM
KeepDuration: 30
SynchronizePollingInterval: 00:00:05
MaxDeltaFileSizePercentage: 20
UseNormalizationRules: True
IgnoreGenericRules: False
EnableFileGeneration: True
I have ensure that all the computers and servers have the correct registry key setting where the GalDownloadInitialDelay is set to 0. However, no ones Gal files (located in C:\Users\<user profile>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Communicator\sip_name@domain) update after the initial creation when they first log into Lync. I have left it over night for 2 nights with some of the user accounts to see if they update automatically and they do not. The only way I can get them to see the new people in the GAL are by deleting the GAL files on the local machine and having them restart Lync. That is not going to be possible with 100's of users everytime we get someone new in the building.
How do I configure the servers to automatically update the Clients GAL Files???
