I've got Lync 2010 server installed, testing with 2 users. Both users are logged in, but one of the users has the phone icon in Lync client the other does not. Any ideas why one would show for one and not the other? Both appear to have the same settings.
Lync Client - Phone Icon Missing

Are both users enabled for Enterprise Voice? I believe the phone icon across the top of the client will only show up for Enterprise voice enabled users.

Tim,
That was it, one user had the PC to PC only setting.
Thanks!

I have the same problem but each of my users are enabled for Enterprise Voice. All other setting appear to be the same as well. I am sure it is a client issue and not a user issue because I can log into the other user's machine and the phone
icon shows up. If that user logs into my machine it does not show up for him even though it does show up on his computer. Any help would be most appreciated.

Could it be that one of your users is enabled for Unified Communications (Exchange)
