Lync 203 and Skype Provisioning

Hi All,

We just recently request Lync and Skype federation and we receive an email that says the federation was complete i try to add Skype user into lync and it works but the presence of the skype user was offline and we try to search the Lync user to skype but we did not succeed on searching the lync user on skype. I hope you can help me.

Thank you all,

Hi Jp,

First of all , please make sure the information that you provided to Microsoft is valid. (e.g.  Access Edge service FQDN)

Second, please make sure you have completed the following tasks:

a.  Configure Federation and PIC

b. Configure the policy to support federated user access

3. Configure the Skype PIC provider setting for Lync.

Run the following commands:

Remove-CsPublicProvider -Identity Messenger

New-CsPublicProvider -Identity Skype -ProxyFqdn federation.messenger.msn.com -IconUrl "https://images.edge.messenger.live.com/Messenger_16x16.png" -VerificationLevel 2 -Enabled 1

Best regards,

Eric

edge01 is not a valid FQDN; try something like edge01.domain.com.

Just remember that the Skype user you're testing with must have a valid Microsoft Account when it logs in into Skype (I think formally named Microsoft Live ID which is generally an email address that the user uses to login into Microsoft MSDN for example)
