Lync 2013 web service authentication issue
hello,

I have a lync 2013 server.  When anyone sends a lync meeting to someone not on our network, they get prompted for windows credentials (we are using the Lync Meeting plugin in outlook to send the invite).

In the Lync Server Control Panel, under security, I have the web service set to "negotiate".  If I choose anything else, ("integrated windows authentication" or "None") then no one can use the Lync app on their smartphone.  If I choose "None", the pop up asking for credentials goes away but we still cannot log in on the phone app.

any thoughts on where to look for answers on this one?

Thanks,

Jason

Which reverse proxy do you use for your publishing of the web services to the internal Lync server?

You have to forward the web services form extern port 443 and 80 to the internal web services 4443 and 8080.

The reverse proxy setting fixed the authentication issue but now the meeting attendee is getting "call ended because of network connectivity issues" continuously.

The PC firewall is off.

Thank you for your patience as I am new to Lync.

Hi JMattiussi,

You may check the followings.

1. Make sure the required ports are opened on Firewall.

2. Double check the rewrite rules.

3. Test this issue with Lync Web App and Lync Desktop Client on a different computer.

Best regards,

Eric
