Hello Sir,

I am working as IT Specialist in my organisation.

We are using Office 365.

Currently Microsoft Lync  is launched as Skype for business.

We are using office 2013.

Some Employee of our organisation got automatic update form Microsoft for Lync 2013 to Skype for Business, But some users are still using Microsoft Lync.

Can You Please send me the procedure for update Lync 2013 to Skype for Business.

So that I can apply that settings to other users who did not got automatic upgradation.

Thank you,

Mital Bhatt.

Hi Mital,

would you check if user that did not receive update for Skype for Business does or does not have Microsoft update enabled?

Windows can run in two modes:

- check for Windows updates only

- check for updates for Windows and other Microsoft products

To get update Skype for Business you will need to set a second option

Added to M... you can control Skype UI in your environment by running the below scripts:

Enable Skype UI for all users: Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $true

Disable Skype user interface (UI) for all users: Set-CsClientPolicy -Identity Global -EnableSkypeUI $false

You need to update your Lync 2013 pool with Feb 2015 CU to support Skype for Business client.

Hi,

You may use WSUS or any other patch management system (e.g. SCCM) to perform remote updates for those machines. Alternatively, you can download the updates https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2889923 and use GPO to perform the remote installation when user logins to the desktop the next time the machine is being rebooted. Hope this helps!
