Lync 2013 keeps attempting to call a contact - ghost calling
My Lync client keeps on attempting to call a contact. I shut down the application and restart- same thing happening. Is there a way to disable lync-lync calling, or some other work around. This is very annoying as it keeps popping up when I am working.

That's not normal or native behavior, so it's difficult to tell you how to stop it.  Does it happen if you log into your account from another machine?  It sounds like you may be hitting some sort of hot-key combination or something. Do you have any Lync helper utilities installed? Who is the contact it's calling?

I can't seem to find any sort of pattern, seems random. It will call the same contact repeatedly, however; this contact has recently changed and it is now trying to contact them repeatedly. What are the calling hot keys? This could potentially be the problem. Also, this happens on other machines as well. Is there a way to disable the calling entirely? I never use Lync to Lync calling and rarely use the meeting functions. I do not believe I have Lync helper utils installed, I have also ran the quick repair to see if something was corrupt.

Ctrl-Enter is the shortcut, Paul Bloem's reg file can help you disable audio/video (you can't just disable audio without disabling video) if you want to give it a shot: https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/Lync-Disable-Phone-and-219beecf

The registry change seemed to work. Thanks for your help!

Nice, rate that registry key in the gallery 5 stars too if it helped :).
