Lync 2013 isn't working and not updating to Skype for Business

Hello,

I have been using Lync 2013 for past one year and suddenly its not working when i try to connect to my client network. When i researched on net, looks like i have to update my lync to Skype for Business so i downloaded the update kb2889923 for 32 Bit and installed it. even then lync is not updating to Skype for Business.

The error message would be"Cannot sign in because the server is temporarily unavailable." I have installed Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant too, even then i am receiving the same error.

I use the same account to login into my outlook and its working fine without issues.

Could you please help me to resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Nithyaraj

Hi,

You might have also incorrectly configured your account - e.g. manually configured server in Lync client settings, etc...

did you try to remove Lync SIP profile on your disk?

Are you the administrator, what server are you trying to connect to?  It sounds like Skype for Business Online.  Can you ensure your account is still enabled for Skype for Business?  You shouldn't need to upgrade the client to connect, if you install Lync basic on another PC, can you connect?

Hi,

Please check if the issue only happen for the special Lync account or for multiple Lync account.

If the issue only happen for one or few Lync account, it may the Lync account or Lync client issue, you could test with other well-worked computers. Also make sure the issued account is still enabled on Lync Server side.

If the issue happen for multiple Lync accounts, please double check if Lync FE Services started, and check if there are any error messages on the FE Server Event Viewer.

Please make sure Lync Server and client update to the latest version.

Best Regards

Hello Anthony,

Thanks for your reply.

I'm the administrator to the Windows account and still i tried to run Lync as Administrator which is not resolving the issue. Yes. I am trying to access to Skype for Business Online. When i use my account to login from one of my colleague PC(he is using Skype for Business online), its working fine. I checked with my client Service desk and they informed me that my Lync settings is still on.

However my Clients have been upgraded to Skype for Business, should this be creating a compatibility problem when i use Lync 2013 to connect?

Thanks,

Nithyaraj

Hello Eason,

Thanks for your reply.

The issue is with my PC alone. I am accessing the outlook account via web login and i am able to connect to Lync without any issues over there. I have tried to remove my Office 2013 on the whole along with Lync and reinstalled with latest updates which is also not resolving the issue.

My Client have been upgraded to Skype for Business, should this be creating a compatibility problem when i use Lync 2013 to connect?

I have raised a ticket to upgrade my account to Skype for Business and I'm still waiting on it.

Thanks,

Nithyaraj
