Lync 2013 crashes kernelbase.dll

Hi there,

I have already tried all the solutions I could find online, namely disabling bluetooth at BIOS, removing webcam and audio drivers and obviously completely uninstalling Office 2013 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501) and re-installing it again and I always get the same result: Lync 2013 crashes with the message "Microsoft Lync has stopped working" and it logs the following details on Event Viewer:

Faulting application name: lync.exe, version: 15.0.4641.1000, time stamp: 0x53c5bf4b

Hi Rui Duarte,

How long have you had this issue?

Did Lync 2013 work before?

Please also update your Office 2013 to the latest version.

Best Regards,

Lisa Zheng

Hi Lisa Zheng,

I've had this problem over 1 week since I tried to repair it (I had a word document with an embedded Excel object, that I couldn't open). After that "repair" and several attempts at uninstall and re-install as I wrote before, even following the instructions at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501, Lync doesn't work anymore. Before this, it worked without a glitch.

The solution I've found so far is installing Lync 2010 and wait for some update that solves the problem or some other major failure that forces me to reinstall Windows and Office 2013...

Best regards,

Rui Duarte
