I have never seen this before but I always find an OS rebuild is the best option when the client starts acting up. It is really hard to troubleshoot these issues and you end up spending more time that a rebuild would take.

Hi,
Did the issue happen only for you or for multiple users?
Please try to login other computer Lync client with your account and test the issue.
Please also change another well worked Lync account to login your Lync client to test the issue.
The issue may be affected by other third party software. For your reference, you can perform Clean Boot to have a test.

If the issue persists, please also try to repair Office 2013 in the Program and Features and restart the computer.
