Lync 2013 Screen Share Presenting in meetings issue

Hello,

We have a few users who use the Lync 2013 client which is hosted on Lync 2010 server model that cannot present in lync meetings, but they can one on one, just in meetings they get a message "We can't connect to the server for screen presenting"  This started happening yesterday 7/15/2015.

Is this external or internal?  One on one will be peer to peer, but a conference would send the media through the front end.  I'd check to see if all services are started, look for event viewer errors, restart the servers and services if possible, and consider any changes that were made recently.  This occurred to a client of mine very recently on a certificate renewal, the "renewed" certificate had an extra intermediate authority included that wasn't installed on the front end.  The services started and users were allowed to IM and make phone calls, but conferencing was acting up in strange ways.

Hi Anthony,

Both, external and internal. We got two internal users and one external user. The external user wasn't using the VPN, shouldn't have to. The vendor who hosts Lync server (wish we were still hosting through office 365) claims there were no platform changes. I did ask for them to check their front end server logs for any errors regarding the Web Conference Edge server connectivity perhaps. I will check about the cert. Only 3 users so far that are experiencing this. I cannot reproduce. I figured it was a recent update to the client. Will report back.

If it's a 500 error, that should be a server response, client settings wouldn't affect it I wouldn't think.  I'm wondering if those three users are being directed to a different front end than you by a load balancer in that case.  One of the FEs may be acting up, but if it's hosted by a third party, they would need to resolve it, you should just send a screenshot of the error from a browser (meet.domain.com) and let them know the time and IP you're coming from if you can.

Hi,

1. As the issue only happen for three users, please login Lync client on other well-worked computers with these issued accounts, and test if the issue happen or not. If the issue still happen, it should be the issue from Lync Server side. If the issue not happen again, it can be the client issue.

2. Please let the third party provider to check if there is any error message on FE Server and Edge Server.

Best Regards,
Eason Huang
