Lync 2013 Outlook Integration Issues

I have a client that is having Exchange Outlook Integration issues when trying to set up Lync 2013.

The email address is client@domain.com. The sip address is client@domain.com. But the Lync server is lync.domain.local. Client is on Exchange 2010.

The address book is not downloading and the outlook integration issue error icon appears on the bottom right.

If the client is set manually to Client@lync.domain.local the address book downloads.

But can Lync work in the long run set up like this?

While Outlook integration is not required it does provide some very useful features - Voicemail in the Lync client and Exchange contact search among other things.

First step in troubleshooting is to check the error reported by Lync. To do this hold "Ctrl" and right click the Lync icon in the task tray and select "Configuration Information":

Let me know what you see for the following (after signing in give it few minutes to settle on an error):

Is the issue happening internally and externally?

Have you setup Exchange autodiscover for domain.com?

If lync.domain.local is working but domain.com isn't I suspect this is a DNS issue. Double check DNS records records for Lync exist for domain.com.

Hi,

Did you solve the issue with the help of Andrew provided?

Which sip domain name did you use for default SIP domain (client@domain.com or Client@lync.domain.local)?

Did the issue happen internal or external?

For the issue of cannot download address book, please check the External Base URL on Lync topology with the help of the link below:

For the issue of Lync and Exchange integration you can refer to the link below:

Autodiscover is setup correctly. I think I need to set up a pinpoint domain. I will let you know if this fixes the issue.

We need to be able to download the address book. The client wants to use the client@domain.com as the default sip domain.

Hi ,

Salesforce for Outlook version 2.2.1 and higher will support Outlook 2013 in the Summer '13 release. For those of you already on Summer '13, you should see the new version of Salesforce for Outlook available for download later this week.

If you have not been upgraded to Summer '13, you can see when your instance of Salesforce will be updated.
