I'm pretty new at lync, i'm just trying to install lync server 2013 but the deployment assistant stops working with this error message :

It seems forest preparation didn't work.

Could you try to prepare the forest from the lync management shell instead of the Deployment wizard ?

you can do that by opening the lync management shell and running the following command

enable-CsAdForest detailed command information can be found here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg425713.aspx

Hi Tek-Nerd, thanks for replying, actually everything went fine for the AD preparation.

i used powershell to do that but now i want to install the standard edition server.

D'abord, il faut que vous installiez la base de donn (Database) si c'est une nouvelle installation pour Lync Server 2013 - Standard Edition (sans 2010 dans le environ).

Bonjour Desmond, le problme est que j'ai install lync dans vmware tout marche parfaitement et c'est cette mme configuration que je veux mettre sur une machine physique et l l'assistant de dploiement lync arrte de fonctionner. j'ai aussi install la base de donnes et essay de faire avec powershell mais il me donne des erreurs de connection la base de donnes.

Just to make sure the community follows (hence in English).

Once the first SE with the required SQL database (to store the CMS) is in place, additional SE or EE Lync Server 2013 Front-End pools should install fine in the same AD domain, regardless of running in a physical or virtual environment.

Are all the pre-requisites installed on the new physical SE Lync Server 2013? Note that there are certain differences for Windows Server 2008 R2 and 2012 / R2.

Perhaps you can also try to set regional settings to English (United States) in Control Panel if the underlying OS is French to see if this helps?
