Lync 2013 - keeps prompting that Outlook 2013 cannot be started despite Outlook 2013 working perfectly well

Office 2013 x64 on Windows 7 x64 - question asked already in Office365 forums and I was redirected here by an admin

I am running office 2013 and Lync2013 - everything works just fine expect that Lync keeps insisting that Outlook cannot be started. It is clearly Lync that is producing the error as the dialog box has the Lync Icon etc.

It gives me options to repair/help/close. Repair does not repair anything (nothing happens), help is unhelpful and close simply closes the dialog box. Any ideas here? I have nothing in the event log that gives me a clue and I have uninstalled and reinstalled Lync twice now with reboots in between.

Make sure the Lync client is fully patched and up to date.  There were some issues similar but I'm not sure identical to this with earlier versions.

Can you post a screenshot?

Lync 2013 is a part of Office 2013. Have you try to remove the entire Office 2013,reinstall Office 2031 and apply all updates?

Hi,

Did the issue still happen if other users login your Lync and Outlook with their Lync/Outlook account?

If yes, it can be the issue of the client itself. Please repair Office 2013, and make sure Office 2013 update to the latest version.

If not, please delete Lync user profile and Outlook user Profile and then test the issue again.
