Lync 2010 client not sign in

Hello,

One of users cannot login to lync 2010 client.

when the user want  sign on to lync, get below error message ;

"cannot sign because lync server is temporarily" However, other users can login the system.

I insert lync server address as manuel conf. from the client. not change anything.

After than, I install wireshark and not find any traffic  to lync server from lync 2010 client.

I can run telnet command as "telnet lyncpool.domain.com 5061 or 443"

and I can see telnet traffic from wireshark.

Whay can I do for resolve this problem ?

Thanks

Hello,

if you don't see any traffic to the Lync Server from this client, is the client able to resolve the FQDN of the server via DNS?

Did you enter the FQDN of the Lync Pool, or did you enter the IP address as manual configuration? What happens if you try to enter the IP address?

If it works with the IP it seems to be a DNS problem at this particular client.

Kind regards

Seiji

Did you check the Lync Client Logs:

  1. In the upper right corner of the Lync main window, click Options (gear icon).
  2. In the Lync - Options dialog box, click General.
  3. Under Logging, select the Turn on logging in Lync and Turn on Windows Event logging for Lync check boxes.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart Lync, and then try to reproduce the issue.

The file Communicator-uccp.log is created in the directory username\tracing.  Also, Lync writes the following types of errors to the Windows ETL files, along with detailed troubleshooting information:

To analyze the Communicator-uccp.log log way more easy open it with snooper.exe which is part of the Lync Server 2010 Ressource Kit.

IP address for manual configuration is not support. You need to input the FQDN of the internal server or external server.

Did you mean that you can sign in with Lync 2010 by the manual configuration with IP address?

As far as I know, it is not possible as Lync 2010 only support TLS connection.

Please check the DNS records work for Lync Front End Server.

You can use the command nslookup

Nslookup

>set type=a

><Front End Server>.domain.com

>set type=srv

>_sipinternaltls._tcp.domain.com  (check the SRV record for autodiscover)

"I tried ip address for manuel conf. from my computer. Its get only certificate error and connect it."

Check all these :-

Make sure the client machine is reachable to your front end server. Ping the front end server and see if you get ICMP reply.

If the client machine has been recently joined to the domain, check if the root CA is imported into this client machine.

I believe you have enabled the user in the lync control panel, check SIP address of the user once. You can login the user in a different machine to check if his lync credentials are working.

Lisa.zheng we have 5 K clients and other clients can login to lync with domain, So I don't think problem about autodiscover. and I can select TLS checkbox with manuel ip configration.

Prajwal Desai,

I can run ping command and telnet to 443,5061 ports. I checked all certificated status.

(certificated error is normal because I insert ip address. I want to explain that lync connect with ip address)

and re-create computer password with netdom resetpwd  command.

However, I can't login Lync with this user's computer. So, I think problem about user computer.

But, When I want to login lync, the program not request dns query. I can't see from wireshark dns request.

hosts file is empty. I can't no longer comment about this case.

ok. I find problem.

Firstly, lync request traffic to proxy and proxy server return error "304 date modified" for download proxy script.

After this error Lync traffic is interrupted.

if I disable proxy settings, Lync not request any data.

Is it different proxy settings for Lync ?

Thanks
