Lync 2010 Do Not Disturb status set's by itself
We have a user that every so often his status get's set to Do Not Disturb and we can't figure out what's causing it. We have one example where he was on a scheduled meeting phone call (Lync) from 8am till 9am, the call lasted till 9:45am. When he hung up the phone he noticed his status was do no disturb, select reset status did return his status to available but why did it even go to Do Not Disturb?

What has been done so far as part of your troubleshooting steps?

Try one or all of these:

1. Enable Logging in Lync option for user and try to reproduce the problem. Check for logs.

2. Check if the option "Show me as Do Not Disturb when I am presenting" has been enabled. May be during the call, user was presenting something or shared his desktop.

3. Try updating Lync Client and see if the problem persists.

4. Re-install Lync Client on user machine, if its a single user problem.

Hope any of the above might help.

I'll try verifying the Lync client is the latest version, if it is I will reinstall the Lync client and we'll enable Lync logging to track down the issue. We'll be doing this probably Monday morning so I will post back more once I hear back from the user. Thank you for the suggestions.

I had the same problem and I just figured it out. When I open the Lync icon on my Taskbar I then click on an individual OR Microsoft Lync itself to open the main window. Well, there are five buttons located right next to the word Microsoft Lync and if you accidentally hit one of them, and DND is right in the middle, then Lynch resets your status. You may have noticed that you didn't go to the Microsoft Lync main window even though you thought that you had clicked on it. Instead, you probably clicked on one of the status buttons. Being more careful with what I click on has resolved my problem.
