I have Lync 2010 and 2013 running together, with most users still on 2010.  The front end servers are 2013, but the Edge server is 2010.  The Lync clients are 2013.

When Lync clients connect externally, there are often delays when sending IMs.  The wheel spins sometimes for around 2-5 seconds, but not always.  However connecting to meetings is always slow, and typically has an initial 10-15 second delay.  Once connected, it's fine.

I dont expect that this is normal behavior.  Has anyone run into this before?

Did your simple URL point to Lync 2010 pool or Lync 2013 pool?

Would you please check the event log on your FE server and enable the server logging(With S4,Sipstack,JoinLauncher check),reproduce the issue and use snooper to analyze the trace log to see where is the delay happened?Also please enable client logging to get more information for trooubleshooting.
