Lync 2010

Hi,

I'm running lync 2010 which has a SQL backend installed on a dedicated server.  The SQL server is about to be migrated to another site so it's ip will change, my other servers will be staying in the same location.  The following databases are on the SQL box;

ApplicationDatabase

ArchivingDatabase

CentralManagementDatabase

MonitoringDatabase

UserDatabase

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Hi,

You may need to move your lync back up data to a new server as your current sql server that hosted lync data will be moved to other site.

Lync Server 2010 introduces the central Management Server role. This role does not allow you to alter the back-end database that is used by the Central Management Store until you move this role to a new pool. So you should move the Central Management store then move the back-end database.

Please refer this TechNet blog http://blogs.technet.com/b/nexthop/archive/2010/12/20/change-a-pool-database-instance-when-the-pool-hosts-the-central-management-server.aspx
