Lync 14.0.10 Crashing

Hi,

I have installed the Lync 14.0.10 client on OS X Yosemite and it crashes as soon as the logon has completed and I try to take an action with any of my contacts, such as starting a chat. Below is the dump from the crashes, below. Any idea how to resolve this crash? I have reverted to 14.0.9 which is working correctly.

can we try this

  • Make sure you have all Mac for Office updates and are running the very latest updates
  • Go into Settings, Language & Region
  • Change the language from "English-Primary" (or whatever the language is set to) to "English-US"
  • Reboot
  • Go back into Settings, Language & Region
  • Change the language back to "English-Primary"
  • Reboot then test

Hi jrichard,

A similar problem and answered by a Microsoft employee(Terry Adams).

This crash seems to indicate an issue with delegates. If you have delegates, a workaround may be to move the delegate from the Other group to some other group.

Hope it can be helpful.

The new version should be pulled until these bugs are worked out, this is more like a beta than an actual release.

Every single one of our users who attempted to upgrade has had crashing problems.

Doing a clean uninstall and downgrading to an older version resolved it.

I would not upgrade until the next release comes out.

Yes, this was indeed the problem and the solution above worked for me.

There is also a December Hot-Fix out that is supposed to fix crashing issues on 10.10.

EDIT: 15/1/15 I can confirm after applying this hotfix that Lync has not crashed since (I also cleared out the cache before appl

My Lync client crashed 3-4 times daily.  I just restart and hope the next version works better.
