Lost documents and files in Windows 7 64bit
On a Windows 7 64bit OS that lost it's files, as well as music files but not the folders themselves. Also, a password is no longer required. It looks as though the Profile has gone corrupt, but I got no notification as with alot of the other posts regarding corrupt profiles. I am running a recovery program in the hopes to recover documents, but if I can't I will have to try torestore the profile....anyone have any more suggestions?

Hi, While you said “a password is no longer required”, what is the password? The logon password or the encrypted password? Please go to Folder Options, View, select “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” to verify if the files are hidden. Meanwhile, I am assuming that you log on a temporary user profile. Please visit: A temporary profile is loaded after you log on to a Windows Vista-based system Note: the above KB is original written for Windows Vista, it is supported in Windows 7 too.
