Lost Admin. password (vista home) but,.
The other standard user account allows me to access the computer. Ran Ophcrack... no password was revealed for that account. the command line for net user stari (thats me), password changed on 3/14/11 @ 15:00 hrs. Password changeable 3/14/11 @ 15:00 hrs. AND it said that NO Password was needed. Did i change the user name? or do I live in a fantasy world? The UAC is a curse, well, unless there is some registry miracle, or console tree magic i'm doomed.

Hi, Please check if this is an OEM version. If so, please try to boot into Safe Mode to check if the built-in administrator account is enabled there. If the built-in administrator is disabled and no other administrator account can be logged in, then we have to reinstall the system after backing up the important files with Command Prompt. However, if you've forgotten your Windows password and you're on a domain, you may contact your domain administrator for it or remove the computer from domain and create an administrator account, then re-join domain for this issue. Are you using Windows vista, there is a separate hidden account called administrator. The easiest way to access it is to go into safe mode. You do this by tapping F8 just after the self test, and before windows starts to load. Once on the start up menu choose safe mode. Click on the administrator account. From there you can change any passwords in the control panel under user accounts. You do not have to know any of the passwords to change them, or you can use utility to delete the lost password. Usually 3 steps easy to follow: 1.Download Windows Password Recovery Tool from Official site and decompress it on that PC.there is a .ISO file. Burn the .ISO file to a CD. 2.Get out the newly created CD and insert it to the locked computer. 3.Re-boot the locked computer and then follow the process of instructions. Just after a few steps, the old password will be removed. It supports all windows version, recover windows 7 password, vista/xp/2003/2000/NT etc.
