Losing wireless connection each time I log off - Windows XP SP3
Each time I log on I have to start Wireless Zero config. I had been using the router trouble free for around 9mths - this problem started about 3 weeks ago. Simultaneously a laptop with inbuilt wireless button arrived in the house - I have used that laptop to re-wire the connection as I have a short wire to the Belkin Router. I have spent hours on the helpline, all to no avail. Belkin say I need to update some batch files. I run a business from home & use the internet every day. This is making life extremely difficult. My desktop is Tiny, so no help there. Cany anyone help?1 person needs an answerI do too

What do you mean by stating that you used the [new] laptop to re-wire the connection? What "batch files" did Belkin say you should update? I've seen 3 different "solutions" for this issue. I can't guaranteethat any one of them will work: A. Network Adapter Power Save1. Open Device Manager, select your wireless adapter, right-click and select Properties.2. On the "Power Management" tab, uncheck the box to allow Windows toturn off the device to save power.3. OK your way out. B. Network Adapter Advanced Settings.1. Open Device Manager, select your wireless adapter, right-click and select Properties.2. Click on the "Advanced" tab.3. Inspect the list of available properties and see if there is anything that looks like "stay awake" or the like, and configure itappropriately.4. OK your way out. C. Registry modification.1. Start > Run > type regedit > click OK.2. Navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon3. Right-click on Winlogon, select New > String value and name it KeepRasConnections.4. Right-click on the newly-created value and select modify. Assign value of 1.5. Close regedit.6. Reboot the system. -- Lem
