This is an ongoing issue with RC7100: after most updates requiring a reboot, I lose connectivity with the MY 88E8056 PCI-E onboard, ASUS P5K-VM. When this occurs, I have a second network connection, "Unknown Network." I do not get this behaviour after each reboot, only following a Win Update. In order to restore my connectivity, I have to delete the update (most recently, KB972260,) a NetShell Reset, ipconfig release / renew.. reboot a couple times and eventually, my connection is restored. Any thoughts?

Sounds very similar to my problem. Works occasionally now not working at all. I have installed wireless receiver and works. I have an ASUS Striker II, neither port now works after last windows update.Waiting to hear for some solutions as well.

Thanks, jackjps. I find after every reboot, I now have to reinstall the driver to return connectivity after a moment or two. I do this via: DM : Network Adapters Update Driver : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller : Update Driver Software : Browse my computer... : Let me pick ... : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller It's interesting to note I have two drivers listed at this point, a Generic and the above-mentioned. I select the above-mentioned, it installs, and after a minute or so, the network is re-established. I have not tried the generic as yet. I wonder if there is a conflict?

I may have a solution found elsewhere: in the driver properties : Power Management : uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. For good measure, I unchecked Internet Protocol v6 in the Network Connections : Local Area Connection : Properties. Now when I reboot, I have my connection... so far! Hope this helps.
